A Different Doraemon World

Chapter 7: Records of History

Doraemon raised his head, giving Nobita a reassuring smile before turning to Kelly and Karen, saying: "I know that 500 years in the future, humanity has advanced significantly. Not to mention, you two were even able to research time tunnels and create a time machine. That means the technology you possess must surpass the average standard of 500 years later. But even so, I still dare to claim that you won't succeed!"

Karen glared at Doraemon fiercely, her face contorted with anger as she asked, "What do you know? You're just an old robot! What makes you so sure we'll fail?"

Doraemon smirked, his tone slightly mocking as he asked, "Excuse me, do you two study history? Surely, 500 years in the future, humanity still teaches world history, right?"

Both Kelly and Karen froze for a moment, then Karen's face turned red as she shouted, "Are you calling us stupid?"

Kelly, also angry, said, "I'm the greatest scientist; I remember every little detail of history!"

Doraemon laughed heartily. "Sorry, sorry, I didn't mean that. But if you two really know history so well, then let me ask you this: from now until 500 years later, is there any record or mention of two queens named Kelly and Karen?"

Both of them were taken aback, then turned to look at each other, pondering. Indeed, if they had been queens in this era, there should have been historical records 500 years later, even if they didn't use their real names. Surely, there would be documents about two queens who once ruled this time. But... there were none. There were no records of a battle with two girls, nor any mention of two queens who had once ruled this era. This proved that they had not succeeded, because if they had, history would surely have recorded it.

Kelly lowered her head, her orange hair hiding her expression. It was unclear what she was thinking, while Karen slumped down to the ground, muttering, "What? Does that mean we've failed? How could this happen..."

Doraemon continued, "You two are smart, so you must know that history isn't easy to change. If you forcefully alter it without proper preparation, the consequences will surely be severe."

"..."

Nobita nervously looked at the two of them. Kelly kept her head down, while Karen continued to mutter on the ground. Nobita quietly approached Doraemon, intending to find a way to untie him.

"Ahhhhhhh..." Kelly suddenly threw her head back and screamed, then, like a child, she stomped her feet on the ground and shouted, "Why does nothing go right for me? Clearly, this young lady is a genius, a great person! Everything should have been easy! This young lady is a genius, a genius!"

Nobita was startled by Kelly's outburst, completely at a loss. Just moments ago, she had seemed so dangerous, but now she was acting like a child who had lost her candy, venting her frustration uncontrollably.

"When she gets too excited or too stressed, she turns like this—becomes a bit... unhinged. Even her way of speaking will changes." Karen explained softly, appearing behind Nobita without him noticing, before sighing: "Now she's calling herself 'this young lady' again..."

Nobita jumped back in alarm, staring at Karen nervously. Karen ignored him, walking over to Doraemon, and to Nobita's surprise, she began to untie him.

"Why…?" Nobita asked, but before he could finish, Karen spoke.

"To be honest, we don't know what to do anymore. Our plan to rule has failed, and the plan to be saviors likely won't succeed either. After all, there's no historical record of a sudden massive migration," Karen said as Doraemon stood up. She continued, "At this point, all we can do is inform everyone in future so they can prepare early. Even though it's not certain we can defeat those robots."

Nobita rushed to help Doraemon up and declared loudly, "I won't create robots with independent thinking! The apocalypse won't happen!"

"Father, haven't you already created a robot with independent thinking?" Karen glanced at Doraemon as she spoke.

"Even if you don't announce the existence of this robot called Doraemon, do you think everything will end there? Like that robot said, history isn't easy to change. So how can you be sure you can alter it? If you're so noble, maybe I should eliminate you right here and now. That way, the apocalypse won't come. After all, Father would be dead." Karen said coldly, then aimed a compression box at Nobita.

Nobita's body trembled, but then his eyes showed determination. "If it can save all of humanity..."

Karen stared at Nobita, then sighed and shook her head: " It's meaningless. History has already told the story, Father, you just don't like the story it tells. Besides, even if we could change it, I wouldn't dare take that gamble. Who knows what the Earth would become without the great Father?"

Nobita fell silent, unsure how to respond.

Doraemon dusted himself off, then suddenly said, "It's too soon to give up. After all, it's not like there's no way."

Karen frowned at Doraemon. "What way? Go to a distant past? Or travel to an uncertain future?"

"This young lady is so tired. I can't be a queen or a savior, and now this young lady has to hide in the Stone Age or some dreadful future? If that's the case, then I'd rather fight those robots and die gloriously!" Kelly ranted, her frustration spilling out.

"It's not about moving to the past or the future," Doraemon said, looking at everyone with a smile: "We could move to another planet."
