A Demon King Through The Worlds

Chapter 61: Chapter 61: Calm before the…

"Why was there a pervert sleeping in that room?" one of Banjou's followers asked in confusion.

"I really don't know why."

"Hey! Stop chatting and help carry that big airhead," Touka urged, looking at Banjou lying on the floor.

He had come with three followers, so she wouldn't be the one to carry this man weighing a hundred kilograms to a bed.

And these three followers, either intimidated by Touka or just wanting to help their leader, rushed to carry the collapsed Banjou.

....

"Is it over?! Why is it over?!" A high-pitched wail rang out through the dark room, just hearing it would be enough to cause agony in the listeners.

Shuu Tsukiyama couldn't believe that the blood he had obtained had run out so quickly... or rather, he couldn't accept it.

At first, everything was fine, but as time went by, thoughts appeared in his mind, as if his body was craving that particular substance.

With each passing minute, this desire only intensified, such thoughts constantly assaulting his mind.

His head ached and to ease his pain, he could only think of one thing – with his hands trembling, he opened a small wooden box and carefully took out a handkerchief.

He then slowly unfolded the handkerchief, revealing the slightly faded red circle right in the center of the handkerchief.

Since the day he had received the handkerchief, he had carefully guarded it to preserve the intoxicating scent it exuded.

With the handkerchief in his hands, they finally stopped shaking, as if finding a touch of comfort in the soft fabric or, more precisely, in the small bloodstain.

Even after these days, the smell remained unchanged and immaculate, as if bacteria, fungi or any other microorganisms were unable to affect this small remnant of biological material.

He calmly brought this piece of tissue up to his nose and inhaled deeply, the fragrance entering his lungs bringing a great feeling of relaxation, as if there was a flow of warmth running through every muscle in his body.

Pulling the handkerchief away from his face, he raised his head: "It feels... so intoxicating... so ecstatic... I need more."

Breaking his apparently calm countenance, anxiety flooded his heart and his body bowed as he buried his face in his hands, inhaling desperately. A touch of madness shone in his eyes and his blue hair gradually became mussed.

Perhaps it was his over-indulged gourmet desires, perhaps there was something wrong with the blood Lucian had given him or perhaps it was both.

....

Lucian and Akaza had reconvened at the training ground, because although they had already created a move, they still needed to refine and complete it.

"The principle is to push the muscles beyond their 'limit', also forcing a strong blood flow to cause an 'explosion' that enhances the blow, and so both the blow and the explosion of the limb used that occurs after the blow cause damage to the enemy. The twisting of the muscles increases the penetrating power, somewhat like a drill; and the explosion of blood increases the extent and range of the damage."

Imagine the punch penetrating the opponent's body and then exploding inside their body, something like that will destroy the internal organs and poison the opponent, so it's physical damage + explosion + poison.

Although increasing the pressure to the point of causing an explosion is not so easy, in fact nothing about this blow is easy to perform.

If the user misses the step of twisting and compressing the muscles like a spring, the tissues of the arm will rupture before the blow is executed, meaning that the user loses the arm or any other limb while the enemy remains unharmed.

And the explosion, not being caused by any kind of flammable substance, was naturally not very powerful, with its lethality residing mainly in its poisonous characteristics and the bone fragments that would end up being thrown inside the enemy's body. However, if used on the outside of the enemy, the damage would be almost negligible, probably just skin wounds.

"Penetrating enemies and then sending shockwaves directly into them would be a good tactic for you, Akaza." Lucian turned his gaze to his companion. All demons have poisonous blood, but the toxicity of most of them is low, so they must find something to replace the poison.

"It would be quite lethal, but I'm not an assassin, I'm a warrior. I don't seek to kill as quickly and efficiently as possible, I seek the joy of close combat." Akaza shook his head, killing wasn't usually his goal, just a consequence of intense combat.

"What could I expect... someone who purposely prolongs a fight wouldn't want to finish it as quickly as possible." Lucian nodded when he remembered who he was talking to.

He should have thought of this beforehand, the two of them have very different points of view on this.

But in any case, such an attack would still be useful when encountering a more powerful enemy or some complicated situation.

"Exactly! Nothing is better than the feeling of the heart beating fervently and the blood bubbling! The exchange of blows is what makes me feel alive!" Emotion bubbled up in Akaza's voice as he listed the joys that come with fighting.

His master is dead, his fiancée is dead and the only thing he has left is his passion for fighting.

And of course, the desire to become stronger and stronger.

....

"Well done Tanjiro. Remember, just as the name suggests, the most important thing about breathing techniques is breathing, so stay focused on your breathing." Kokushibo advised as he watched his almost-pupils practicing.

Well, only the older ones, the younger ones need more rest.

"The most important thing in any kind of conflict is to stay in a favorable position, never confront your enemy's strong point with your weak point; don't attack while you're weak and your enemy is strong; try to occupy the highest position on the ground to gain a visual advantage and be able to attack from above... although this part doesn't apply to close combat.

Don't try to compete in speed against an enemy who is faster than you; impede his movements or take him by surprise.

Don't try to exhaust an enemy who is more durable than you; defeat them quickly before you get tired and fall into a disadvantage.

Don't compete in strength against someone stronger; make sneak attacks on the weak parts.

Don't try to break the defense of someone who is 'impenetrable'; bypass their defense using poison or attack their eyes and mucous membranes."

Of course, what he said was obvious, but it was still something that should be said.

Knowing how to measure advantage and disadvantage is necessary in all kinds of competitions, be they physical, political or economic.

Ryoko, Hinami, Tanjiro and Nezuko nodded when they heard this, of course, without stopping brandishing the sword they each had in their hands.

"To put it very simply: to win, you just have to not lose. This is especially true for demons, because as long as they don't receive the fatal blow, they are able to regenerate easily and quickly return to their ideal state." Kokushibo paused, his eyes scanning the training ground and remembering that there were no demons there apart from him.

"For humans, the best way to gain an advantage is to use weapons, whether they have special characteristics, contain toxic substances or use some chemical reaction to propel a projectile, like a firearm," he said, directing his words at Tanjiro and Nezuko, "Although I think Lucian will soon turn them into demons."

"For ghoul... I'm not versed in the use of kagunes, nor do I know the best strategy they can use, but I imagine it boils down to hitting hard and fast enough while avoiding the attacks coming from the opponent, as well as the disadvantage related to the type of kagune." He turned to Ryoko and Hinami, the ghouls who were present on the field.

In fact, ghouls don't usually come up with a specific strategy, they just use their strengths to gain an advantage and considering how different kagunes can be from individual to individual, that makes the most sense.
