A Certain Flying Head in MHA

Chapter 66: Chapter 63

He screamed and in rage as he sees the scene play out in front of him. Enraged at the man holding the boy hostage in his hands. Enraged that it has gotten to this point. And most importantly, enraged at himself.

Japan's number 1 Hero, the Symbol of Peace, All Might, for the second time in his life, he cursed at himself for not being fast enough.

The world seemed to slow down to a crawl in his eyes as his the hands of his archenemy began to glow. The light seeping through his flesh was the glow of a familiar light, one that he knows to well, one that has been appearing throughout the day, doing their best to help however they can.

Horror dawned on him as he watched the boy who helped him, who saved him, blew up his own head, the one that was normally attached to his neck. With his leap taking him to the air like a missile, he has to ground to leverage his great strength. All he could do as watch helplessly as the boy's fate played out in front of him.

The explosion devoured both hands of All for One and the force sent both his arms recoiling backwards along with his body. He was thrown back to the other side of the street, impacting and crashing into the store's display window worth no sign of him coming back out.

All Might landed a few meters away from the Kizuki's body and he rushed to kneel next to him.

He sees all the blood, all the eviscerated bits of flesh that was removed from the the rough impalement, the clothes dyed red with parts of it burned and signed from the explosion. He gazed upon the body and noticed that it has gone slack, no longer breathing. He clenched his teeth in fury and turned to where All for One crashed.

All Might stood up and power-walked into the store, his anger rose with each step as he leaves cracks in the concrete. He made his way into the newly made hole and found All for One barely standing upright, at least half of the cybernetic augmentations are broken, some tubes are broken and leaking. He is using one mangled arm to dust his suit as the other one is too ruined to do so.

All for One looked up and met eyes with him. Just as he was about to speak, All Might struck first, his fist went through the air with a blur and heavily impacting the cybernetic face of All for One, the metal caving in.

Then another. Then another. Then another. Another. He rapidly pummeled his foe, burying him with a barrage of the after-image of his fists.

Seconds pass before he finally decides to stop. His mind regaining it's clarity and comes into confusion as he wonders why he didn't retaliate. His pupils dilate and immediately looked behind him, expecting an attack like so many villains have tried before, only to be greeted with the sight of nothing unusual. He quickly turned back to see that his foe is still on the ground. The broken tubes on his body is being held together by red flesh that sprouted from the body and lighting up in murky colours before shining brightly in shades of black, white and gray.

Fearing for the worst, All Might roughly grabbed his enemy by the throat and rushed back outside unto the streets. He unceremoniously threw the body of All for One as high as he can into the sky.

He watched as the shining lights were seemingly not content on just the tubes and metal, they invaded the flesh and blood of his body as he lights up brightly like a monochrome sun and bursts into different effects.

As much as All Might wanted to keep his eyes on his enemy, he had no choice but to close them against the harsh glare. When the light receded to a more tolerable level of luminosity.

What he sees is no longer the man that seemed intent to ruin his life over and over, no. What stands before him now is a tall lithe figure as big as the buildings that fell from the sky. The humanoid shape appears to be made of dark sludge-like liquid of varying shades of gray, with a large hollow depression on the face. The figure seemed to shrink as parts of it crumbled and fell.

All Might is aghast as he seems him reach out, his hand formed multiple mouths at various points and began eating away the building, assimilating the mass with his new form and replacing what he lost.

He grimly placed a hand over the communicator on his ear and delivered the bad news. "Nedzu? Change of plans. We just got a bigger problem to deal with."

"ALL MIGHT!!!" The giant roared.

I checked my phone again to make sure I'm at the right area. An entire part of the city is destroyed during the initial devastation that nothing much but rubble remains of the original street.

The battle isn't broadcast anywhere, for obvious reasons. The entire nation has been declared in a state of martial law and constant evacuations are happening not only I'm the immediate vicinity but also the nearby districts in case the fighting spilled over to those areas.

It all started out as just another day, dealing with school and Judgment, making preparations to pass over my responsibilities when I graduated. Kizuki messaged me saying that he's off to another medical tour and we spent some time for a bit of flirting.

Then, not ever a few hours later, the nationwide alerts came in, Informing us to stay indoors and that both Judgment and Anti-Skill are to stay alert because the nation is in a state of emergency. Academy City erected the ten-meter walls and prepared initiated defensive protocols, turrets came alive and heavy artillery were prepared.

Everyone is worried about what it could mean. Could it be a war? A natural disaster like a massive earthquake?

No one was informed. All of us were left in the dark about whatever is happening outside. I wasn't too worried about my friends, most of them are here in this city so I'm could be sure they are safe. I wasn't worried about Kuzuki either, I've seen how he's grown stronger over the years.

At least, it was until a message came from a friend outside the city. Using a specialized communication device specifically made for the other side, primarily because the walls also has a function to prevent communication exchange with outside the city in the case of vital information leaks.

Hii-chan kept me up to date as to what was happening. And when that message came, I knew I had to leave.

From our side, Kuzuki has only told me about his body and his head. Right now, people can easily mistake him for a corpse, and in a way, they wouldn't be wrong. It takes time for a main head to appear, the more exhausted and the more damage the previous one was, the longer it would take to reform.

Luckily, Mugi-chan has already placed the body in a covered location. It took a lot of difficulty consider the area is now a warzone and the fact the Mugi-chan is mostly shadow means she couldn't move things on the physical realms as efficiently. The others couldn't appear and help out either because in addition to the unspoken truce about appearing in high-profile areas, the thousands of recently deceased in the area embroiled in anger in fear staining the place with strewn-about flesh and blood would only stir-up their inner instincts.

I reluctantly sent a message to Kongou Mitsuko and told her to cover for me, saying that I had to help someone somewhere. We don't always get along but we respect each other enough to exchange favours.

I teleported out of Tokiwadai and appeared in a narrow alley. I repeatedly teleported in discreet areas that are without much surveillance and arrived at the park.

He always did warm me about how disgusting this method of entry was but I have no choice, the walls can detect and lock-on on fast jets, they can detect me the second I appear. Thankfully, the merchant guardian of the toilet hole recognised my accessories and let me through after paying.

I didn't waste any time as soon as I reached the other side. Repeatedly teleporting in rapid succession is both taxing and disorienting but eventually I managed to meet up with Hii-chan. She guided me over and pointed to a certain direction, one where other supernaturals were avoiding due to the bloodshed that was happening on the other side of the same location. From the distance, I can see Reiko-san and Cennis-san cutting and breaking into a giant swirling mass of darkness, along with Hii-chan's decoy dolls moving in with paper seals to deal with the fallen fragments.

Hii-chan handed me over the rough coordinates of where Kizuki might possibly be, and without hesitation, I teleported inside one of the ruined stores and exited through one of the secret exits that were definitely made illegally by someone else.

Upon getting back to the real world, the first thing I felt was the vibrations of the battle. It felt like the tremors of an earthquake, and from what I saw when I left the store, it might as well be.

There was an absolute behemoth of a being made of anything from the vicinity. Concrete, cement, dirt, rock, glass, metal... it was massive size that was rampaging outside a few blocks detached from where I am, and I immediately understood that this was the reason for the lockdown. This is the reason way the whole country is in a state of alert. Heroes were practically throwing themselves and their quirks, trying to do anything to stop him. All Might, Mt. Lady, and a giant robot are doing their best to take him down, or to at least whittle away at his size. From the way their attacking, they're trying to lead him outside of the city in order to get more destructive.

'It seems that All Might is the primary target of that thing...' Another tremor went through the city as the monstrous villain landed a hit on Mt. Lady that knocked her down, the giant robot moving in to take the vanguard as she stood back up.

I shook my head and refocused on finding Kizuki. He should be around in the immediate vicinity but the landscape has changed too much in so little time. I was having trouble navigating the ruins of the fallen city, the place is made worse by the tremors collapsing more rubble and changing the area again. I had to constantly update my mental calculations to make up for the constant changes in the surroundings, this is the most I've had to redo them because normally, the environment doesn't change on the drop of a hat.

Then all of a sudden, a familiar chime of a bell made it's way into my ears.

The ringing is constant and rhythmic, Kizuki's bell is telling me where they are. I spring into action and teleported as much as I can to reach their location. When I arrived at a certain spot, the chime carried a hint of... happiness, I assume, and I got to clearing the rubble by placing my hand on it and teleporting it out of the way, while making sure to keep the structural integrity in mind.

Eventually, I managed to reach his body. His clothes are ruined and his wounds are still visible. My heart clenched at seeing him like this as my eyes watered at the sight. I bit my lip as I gently took him into my arms and teleported away. The real world is too dangerous right now, so the only option is to bring him to the other side. That, and Hii-chan might know away to help accelerate the process.
