Chapter 83: Revenge? Nah, I'd Prank
Out of four of his true friends, Aegon was reunited with three of them, even though there were some problems among them, so he was naturally reminded of their last friend who couldn't be with them.
As he gazed at the sky through the window, thoughts of Elara invaded his mind. He knew she would have definitely found a solution to this problem and even solved it.
She was like the brain of their little group.
"Missing her?" Xavier asked, seeing his expression.
Aegon just hummed in response.
Unlike them, Elara couldn't freely roam around and adventure through the world with her friends. She was an Elf and not just any elf, but a Royal Elf.
The Royal Elf Family would never allow their daughter to enter the humans' territory. The Moonrise Kingdom was the only exception, and even there, she had to come with heavy security.
That was the level of distrust between the humans and Elves, which was quite valid considering the history between them.
But it also meant that Aegon wouldn't be able to meet her easily. Especially now that he was in the Great Solar Empire. There was no way the Elves would allow Elara to come here.
However, these differences hadn't been able to break the bond they shared; in fact, it was even stronger now.
"We can visit her once you become stronger," Xavier suggested. "The current situation is really a big problem."
"I have already decided to start my adventures from Slyvanna," Aegon replied with a smile. "It will be my first destination."
"Really?" Xavier exclaimed. "Hmm, that's actually a good idea."
Aegon nodded and shifted his gaze towards the twins. While Cali was sitting silently, looking outside the window, Luna was busy staring at her gently and lovingly.
It was unknown what made Cali uncomfortable, but she frowned and turned towards Aegon. "By the way, are you really going to let go of the Princess like that?"
"She wanted me to walk into her trap," Aegon said, as he once again looked outside the window. "And being angry at someone like her will just put me in a bad mood, and I'm not interested in ruining my mood for someone like her."
"Really? You aren't going to take revenge on her?" Cali narrowed her eyes in suspicion, and even the others felt the same way.
"I don't like that word, so no, I'm not taking revenge," Aegon said, as he leaned back. "I'll just play a prank on her. That's all."
Xavier suddenly felt chills as he shifted back and asked, "What are you planning?"
"I'll just do the same to her what I did to you," Aegon grinned and said, making Xavier confused for a moment.
Then, as if someone had shone light in his brain, his eyes widened and he hurriedly clutched his head. "No way! You're crazy!!"
"You seriously are considering that?" Luna asked, a little worried. "Is it really fine?"
"It's fine! Completely fine!" Cali's lips parted in a wide grin as she gave a thumbs up to Aegon. "It's the best plan. No one gets away after insulting our family, even if they are from the Imperial Family."
"She wanted me to confront her directly, so I'm just gonna do the opposite," Aegon shrugged lightly. "Though it means I'll have to damage my company's reputation a little."
"You're gonna use that?" Xavier asked, also getting excited. "But don't worry. No way that arrogant Princess is showing her face to the public after that or even announce it."
"Yes, people will make fun of her too," Luna nodded. "But Little Gon, there's another reason for this too, right?"
"I really can't hide anything from you," Aegon sighed and answered. "Although I have the blood of Augustus, I don't really belong to the current Augustus Family, so I don't have any rights to bring them any trouble."
Luna smiled and nodded. She really should have expected such an answer from him.
"I am using the name and identity because that is who I am, but I don't want to use the family I don't belong to."
"It's Grandpa Arnold's family," Cali insisted on that fact. "And I'm sure he will be angry if you don't use your family name, to be honest."
"Is my Opa living here with that family?"
His question left them speechless.
"I don't like to burden people with my problems, especially if they are strangers," Aegon said, as he looked outside. "They are strangers to me, so why should I drag them into my problems?"
"I hate the fact that I can't even argue on that," Cali grumbled and also looked away.
"That's why I've decided to create something of my own," Aegon announced, surprising everyone there. "I don't hate relying on my family, but I also want to have something of my own on which my family can depend."
"Do you have something in mind?" Luna asked, tilting her head sideways.
"I have, but it'll take some time," Aegon nodded. "It's related to my company though…"
He suddenly stopped as his expression hardened and he raised his head, eyes staring at something distant. It was also then that a familiar voice entered his mind.
[Boss, do you want me to handle them?]
'Let me see them first.'
His friends noticed the sudden change in his expression and were going to ask something, but the sudden stopping of the wagon forced the words back in their mouths.
"What happened?" Luna frowned and asked the driver.
"We are being attacked, Your Highness. You can stay inside while I deal with them."
"No, it's fine! I'm curious who is inviting death to their house."
With that, Aegon opened the door and jumped out of the wagon, followed by the other three who were ready to fight, which was clear from their stance.
Aegon gave a side glance at the top corner of the wagon that had turned black and thought, 'They tried to explode the whole wagon first, huh.'
Then, he shifted his gaze to the front where a tall man covered in white bandages was standing, with two daggers shining in his hands.
"You are going to wait?" Aegon asked, as he took a step forward. "It's a bad strategy for an assassin, you know."
"I just wanted to see the face of a Valerian before I put you to permanent sleep," the man grunted before raising his hands. "And I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed."
"I can say the same."
Aegon smirked, seeing the hologram before him.
