Chapter 892 The Last Mission: Seeking An Advice
Day Ninety-Four…
When Jane excused herself to approach Bam-Bam, Nathan grabbed that opportunity to talk to his best friends, Aiden and Stephen.
"Guys, I need your help."
Stephen and Aiden exchanged meaningful glances with one another. They found it amusing since Nathan approached them, asking for help with a serious expression on his face. This was very rare.
"Wazzup, Nate. What's troubling you?" Stephen asked him worriedly.
At first, Nathan felt so embarrassed to open up about his concern. He didn't know how he would put it in words.
Both Aiden and Stephen were all eyes and ears on him, anticipating his reply.
"Give me some advice…" Nathan paused again, making it more suspenseful for his best friend.
"Advice for what?" Aiden probed.
"A better idea for a romantic proposal… and confession," he said.
"Cough! Cough!" Aiden choked on his drink when he heard Nathan's reply.
Stephen had the same reaction with Aiden. He watched Nathan with disbelief. 'Is he serious?'
"Hahaha!" Aiden was not able to hold his laughter.
He just stopped laughing when he met Nathan's deathly glare. Stephen also elbowed Aiden.
"Ahem," Aiden cleared his throat and tried his best to be serious. "Nate, why are you asking us about this? You've done this already. You proposed to Monica once, right?"
Nathan's expression turned grim at the mention of Monica's name. "That wasn't counted. Besides, I don't want to repeat the same kind of proposal."
"Why? Are you still traumatized– Ouch!" Stephen elbowed Aiden once again, interrupting his words.
'Damn. Aiden doesn't know how to read the situation.' Stephen shook his head helplessly.
Nathan just pursed his lips. He had the urge to throw Aiden out of the dining hall.
"Nate, just don't mind him." Stephen stepped forward, wrapping his arm around Nathan's shoulders. "Let's talk about this seriously," he said, eyeing Aiden meaningfully.
Aiden just nodded as he already got Stephen's cue.
"Hey, Nate. Are you sure you want some advice from Stephen? Among us, he was the one who didn't have any experience with love and confession! He didn't have any girlfriend at all. Hahaha! " Aiden bluntly said, teasing Stephen.
This time both Nathan and Stephen glared at Aiden sharply, making his blabbering mouth shut up. Aiden immediately raised his palms in a gesture of surrender, his eyes apologizing to the two gentlemen he had just offended.
"Why don't you just go and talk to the ladies? They've been staring at you," Stephen said, urging Aiden to leave.
Aiden glanced in the direction of the group of women talking. They were members of the Phantom Assassin Guild. The ladies looked like they were teasing Black Rose.
"No. I don't want to. I know they are all beautiful… however, I feel like they are going to skin me alive. I better stay here with both of you." Aiden grabbed Stephen's elbow tightly as he shook his head. "I promise. I'll behave now."
"Good!" Stephen playfully patted Aiden's head. "Okay. Let's go back to the topic." He turned to Nathan once again. "What do you plan to do? Are you proposing to Jane?"
Nathan nodded in response.
"OMG! Are you serious now? Do you love her for real? Or are you just obligated to marry her because of Ethan?" Aiden reacted once more, asking Nathan.
Stephen was also curious to know about Nathan's reply. He wanted to know what Nathan truly felt for Jane. If he was just doing this because of Ethan, then he had to tell Nathan to reconsider his decision. Marrying someone requires a serious commitment and mutual feelings for both individuals involved.
Nathan fell silent for a moment, trying to assess his own feelings.
"I was deceived by Monica. She stole Jane's identity. Because of that, I thought Monica was the woman I loved. But I was wrong…"
Aiden and Stephen met each other's gaze before they nodded, agreeing to Nathan's last remarks.
"How do you feel about Jane?" Stephen asked him again.
Jane's beautiful face flashed in Nathan's mind. He was thinking about her as he began answering their questions.
"If she is not around, I just find myself thinking about her… looking for her. I want to see her… everyday. I always want to know what she is doing." Nathan admitted to them.
"When I learned about her story… I felt the need to protect her. I want to take responsibility for her. And I want her to rely on me… to depend on me more than anyone else. And when… she is interacting with other guys… I feel jealous."
Aiden's jaw dropped upon hearing those statements from Nathan.
"Oh my! Our best friend falls deeply in love for real. You are not like that to Monica!" Aiden couldn't refrain from expressing his opinion.
Stephen also chuckled as he patted Nathan's shoulder. "I agree with Aiden. Your feelings for Jane deepened further. You are in love with her. You want to marry her because you love her, not because you are obligated to do so."
"You and Jane are a perfect match!" Aiden exclaimed. "Both of you have strong personalities. Hahaha. She can handle you easily. You really found your mate! Your match!" Aiden started teasing him.
"So what's the plan? What will be the best proposal you can do for her?" he added, asking Nathan.
Nathan cocked an eyebrow. "I'm here because I don't know what to do. Otherwise, I wouldn't be asking for your opinion."
"Hmm. You have money. Bring her to the famous restaurant. Buy her tons of flowers. Then do a fireworks proposal on the rooftop of the tallest building in our city!" Aiden suggested.
"You can also do a billboard proposal. Or use a helicopter. Hahaha. It's exciting. Oh right! Utilize your men. Kidnap her. Then you will surprise her with a wedding proposal. Tell her you won't release her unless she would say yes!" Aiden felt enthusiastic as he enumerated his suggestions one by one.
Nathan and Stephen could only shake their heads, especially at his last remarks.
"Jane would typically beat those men. They might even get killed if they tried to kidnap her," Stephen replied.
Nathan nodded in agreement.
"Really? Jane can do that?" Aiden couldn't believe it.
"Do you wanna try?" Nathan said, smirking at him.
Aiden immediately shook his head. "No, thanks! I still love my life."
Stephen and Nathan chuckled at Aiden's response.
"Nate, when confessing your feelings and making a proposal, you don't have to make it so grand. Just express your sincerity. It's the thought that counts." Stephen finally expressed his opinion.
"You can do it anywhere… even in your home. Just tell her what you feel. Tell her how much you love her. Show her how much you care about her. And don't make promises. Just do it! Make her feel she's so special."
Stephen's words put emphasis on genuine love and care. They were simple words but a piece of very meaningful advice coming from a friend who understood how to be in love with someone.

Stephen was genuinely happy for Nathan and Jane. Though he loved Jane, he wanted Nathan to be the man for her.
This time Nathan smiled faintly as he held Stephen's shoulders. "Thanks, Stephen. I will keep that in mind."
