Chapter 889 The Last Mission: Direct Question
Day Ninety-Four…
Jane had been transferred to the Syphiruz Medical Facility. Veronica was surprised when she learned that Jane was the VIP patient.
"Why is Ethan here?" Veronica mumbled to herself as she watched Nathan and Ethan accompanying Jane in the ward.
"I thought she was just a babysitter. Why are they so worried about her?" She frowned in annoyance while watching the father and son duo.
Another medical staff overheard Veronica's complaint, so she informed her about what she discovered related to Jane.
"Doc Veronica, the woman is the daughter of the leader of the Sawada Clan. It's a powerful clan in Country J."
Veronica was taken aback when she heard that. She continued observing Nathan and Ethan when suddenly, a nurse came rushing to her.
"Doc! Doc! The patient in room 8 is going wild! She is throwing everything inside!"
Veronica rubbed her temples. The woman who was brought yesterday was causing another ruckus. She was clueless that the woman was none other than her sister, Monica.
"I think she's gone mad! We should transfer her to a mental institution. She keeps cursing Phantomflake!" The nurse couldn't wait to send Monica away. They were having a hard time dealing with her aggressiveness.
"What are you waiting for? Call the security staff. Ask them to help you bind that woman. And let Doctor Carl inject her with sedatives." Veronica instructed her.
"Doc Carl is busy with the VIP patient. He told me to call for you. Besides, Sir Nathan assigned this patient to you, Doc."
Veronica had no choice but to take a look at Monica's situation in Room 8.
Meanwhile, inside the VIP room, Ethan and Nathan were watching over Jane.
The young boy climbed on her sickbed as he held Jane's hand.
"Mommy, please wake up already. Don't make us worry like this. I miss you, Mommy." Ethan continued talking to his mother, gently squeezing her hand.
Nathan sat beside them, watching Jane while listening to Ethan. He reached out to caress her face. When Mr. Hiroshi mentioned bringing Jane abroad, Nathan immediately recommended his facility because he didn't want to get separated from Jane.
Fortunately, Mr. Hiroshi agreed to his suggestion. The old man just called some experts from Country J. They were trying to invite those experts to fly to this country to examine Jane.
In the meantime, Mr. Hiroshi left Jane in Nathan's care as he was busy making arrangements with those medical experts.
"Daddy! Mommy's hand moves! I think she is waking up!" Ethan's elated voice caught Nathan's attention.
The two of them immediately looked at Jane's face. After a few seconds, Jane finally opened her eyes. She woke up!
"Mommy! Mommy!" Ethan called out as he hugged her. He couldn't contain his happiness. "Thank God! You are finally awake."
Nathan also felt relieved when he saw Jane. He had the urge to hug her but his son became his obstacle from doing so.
Meanwhile, Jane darted her gaze back and forth between Nathan and Ethan.
'I'm back…' she thought as she tried to sit up while hugging Ethan in her arms.
When she gazed at Nathan, her lips tugged upward in a faint smile. She moved her head, motioning for Nathan to embrace her.
"Hug me," Jane demanded while staring into his eyes intently.
Nathan paused for a moment before he happily complied. He was dying to hug her. He wrapped Jane and Ethan in his strong arms.
"I'm glad you finally woke up," he whispered in her ear.
Jane bobbed her head, feeling the same way. A sense of relief washed over her. At first, she had been scared, thinking she was stuck in the present time for failing to accomplish her mission. Now, she was glad she had managed to return to this timeline.
'There are a lot of things I can't understand. But one thing is for sure… I have to make Nathan confess to me. I have to accomplish my mission for the three of us to survive.'
Jane was hoping to hear some updates from Bam-Bam. She needed to talk to him and clear some things with him.
"Mommy, are you alright now? How do you feel?" Ethan asked her worriedly. He was checking her as if he were a doctor.
Jane giggled and cupped his face. "Your mommy is healthy. I'm sorry for making you worry. I'm fine now."
Ethan smiled cheerfully. "I'm so happy, Mommy. Please don't leave us. Promise me!"
Jane gave him a pinky promise. "Yes. I'm not leaving you. I'm always here for you, my baby."
"Baby, can I talk to your father for a moment?" She looked at Nathan.
"Sure, Mommy. I'll go tell Grandpa that you regain consciousness. He is just outside, making some phone calls." Ethan understood that he needed to give them some privacy.
"Thanks, Baby. See you later."
Ethan didn't waste his time. He immediately stepped out of the room. He even warned the medical staff not to disturb his parents in the VIP room.
When they were left alone, Jane immediately pulled Nathan, flipping him on the bed as she moved on top of him. Nathan was caught off guard by her sudden aggressiveness. Find exclusive content at empire
'Damn! What is she trying to do here?' Nathan lamented.
But he didn't resist as he just lay on the bed obediently.
Jane pinned him as she moved her face closer to his.
"Nathan Sparks, when are you going to confess to me?" Jane asked bluntly.
Nathan was dumbfounded upon hearing that. 'Huh? Confess what?'
Jane pursed her lips and narrowed her eyes. She gripped his collar tightly.
"Do you love me or not?"
Nathan blinked several times. He opened his mouth only to close it again. He was at a loss for words.
'What's wrong with her? Why is she asking me this?' Nathan gulped hard, his face blushing.
Jane heaved a deep sigh. 'I'm running out of time.'
"Answer me, Nate. Do you love me or not?" she repeated her question, putting more pressure on Nathan.
"I–" Nathan started.
Then suddenly…
Bam!
Nathan's word was interrupted when the door slammed open and Veronica entered the room with her blazing eyes.
"What do you think you are doing? Release Nathan!" Veronica screamed, charging at Jane.
