Where is God pointing?

chapter 10 - Qiansha’s Attack

“Human–God War… if I don’t bring out some real skills, it won’t do.” Faros’s pupils flickered. A soldier tried to sneak up from behind, but Faros widened his eyes, and the man instantly bled from all seven orifices and died.

“Illusion Art: Heavenly Eye. This technique destroys the hearts of weaker enemies without consuming too much energy. Don’t waste your strength against him!” Ruoxuan shouted as he slashed forward.

Faros blocked, then slammed a heavy punch into Ruoxuan’s chest. Wangya tried to rush in to help, but Qiansha stopped him in his tracks.

“Do you want to end up like them?”

“We’re not like them. You’ll see now!” Wangya ducked, and Lin Xing leapt out from behind him. Their blades clashed violently. Wangya pressed his palms together, instantly activating his Divine Reinforcement state.

“End this quickly!” Lin Xing glanced at Wangya, activating his own Reinforcement. Qiansha frowned slightly, a massive water dragon surging from behind him toward the two.

Wangya’s fists burned with fire, and with two punches he vaporized the water dragon, following with a strike at Qiansha. But Qiansha’s golden pupils glowed—his skin shimmered with a shield that absorbed Wangya’s blow.

“So this is the power you gained from that volcano…” Qiansha grit his teeth and drove a punch into Wangya’s chest. Wangya felt a pain unlike anything he had ever experienced before, and his body was sent flying.

“Molten Body…” Lin Xing heard Ruoxuan’s grim words, and his expression tightened.

“You and I, together!” Ruoxuan commanded, and Lin Xing summoned a water dragon to charge.

“You won’t forget me, will you?” A loud boom erupted. The water dragon exploded into vapor, and from the mist Faros burst forth, kicking Lin Xing off balance. Lin Xing barely blocked the second kick.

“Seems that technique won’t work on you. Then try this!” Faros slammed his fist to the ground. The shattered earth chunks flew upward.

“Absorb!” With a thunderous roar, the earth gathered around Faros’s fist, forming a stone gauntlet, and he swung at Lin Xing. Lightning crackled in Lin Xing’s hands, shattering the stone fist in two strikes.

“Dodge!”

Faros spun aside just in time as a man shot past him, kicking Lin Xing in the face.

“You even coated your face with lightning elements!” Lin Xing’s face glowed with an elemental shield, blocking the strike.

“Kagrey? Weren’t you with the Second Squad?” Faros demanded.

“White Wolf sent me as reinforcement.” Kagrey frowned, flashing forward to Lin Xing. Countless arcs of lightning wrapped his fists, crashing down with the storm’s fury.

“Such power… indeed, humanity has advanced, just as the Grand Prophet foretold.” Lin Xing used the brief opening to conjure a great burst of flame, detonating in front of him.

“We can’t underestimate the humans of this era any longer.” Ruoxuan had already endured several blows, blood dripping from his mouth, while Qiansha bore only a few cracks in his armor.

“Enough games. Let’s have a real battle!” Ruoxuan pressed his hand to his heart, releasing a massive surge of energy. Faros and the others instantly tensed, surrounding Qiansha.

“Careful—once he activates Divine Reinforcement, his strength will increase dramatically. Be cautious.” Faros warned.

“The situation isn’t in our favor. We should retreat while we can.” Kagrey muttered, eyes fixed on Ruoxuan.

“Hey, hey! How can you start a fight without me?!”

A massive wave of fire crashed toward Ruoxuan’s group. Ruoxuan raised his hand, blocking with water elements, and looked into the distance.

“That is…”

“Our reinforcements have arrived.” Kagrey smiled.

“Kagrey, I wasn’t done thanking you before you ran off. Luckily I chased you down…” The newcomer stopped, his eyes narrowing on Ruoxuan’s group. “Advisor? Why are you here?”

“It’s him!” Ruoxuan’s face showed shock. Half his energy seemed to retreat in fear as he nervously stared at the man.

“While I was locked in prison, what happened outside? Can you explain it to me?” the stranger asked Kagrey.

“Advisor, withdraw immediately! Prisoner No. 1 has escaped and is heading toward your position—evacuate at once!” a voice blared from the communicator.

Ruoxuan steadied himself, looking at the four before him.

“So that’s it. Your leader White Wolf truly is a master strategist… Retreat.” At his command, a portal opened, and the three quickly stepped inside.

“They’re finally gone. We should leave too.” Kagrey spoke, and the four of them summoned lightning, linking it with the storm above to teleport themselves back to the Mortal Realm.

“Kagrey, what exactly is going on?” the stranger asked.

“The Human–God War has begun. I took the risk of infiltrating the Star God Nation’s prison to free you—for humanity’s sake.” [N O V E L I G H T] Kagrey’s voice was solemn.

“Human–God War? What exactly has happened in the world while I was inside?” the man pressed.

“Excuse me, who are you…” Qiansha began, but Faros quickly introduced:

“This is one of humanity’s six elemental supremes, the Master of Wind—Chang Qing. We welcome the Wind Sovereign.”

“No need for welcomes. Where are the other elemental supremes?”

“At present, the Thunder Sovereign and the Water Sovereign have joined the battle. This
is humanity’s moment of peril. We ask you to fight for us.” Faros said gravely.
