Chapter 961: Clash
Li Huowang crouched in the Bamboo Forest, using the bushes for cover, waiting for Qing Wanglai's help.
However, as time slowly passed, Li Huowang began to feel pain in his hand, which grew more intense.
Holding the enemy's gun she had just taken, Yang Na quickly observed that something was wrong with Li Huowang and hurriedly asked with concern, "How is it? Are you okay? Should I help you leave here first?"
Li Huowang gritted through the pain and shook his head, tossing his broken hand onto the ground. The intense pain made him instantly much clearer.
"No way, I can't trust them right now. Besides, if we fail this time, even the White Jade Capital might be lost; where would we flee?"
While speaking, Li Huowang moved closer to her, "No worries, just a bit of pain. As long as you're here, I won't die."
Looking at the concern on Yang Na's face, Li Huowang added nonchalantly, "No worries, as long as we can kill the Fate Commander of Fusheng Heaven, my hand will come back."
But in reality, Li Huowang wasn't sure; he didn't know which Fate Commander in Fusheng Heaven was linked to his broken hand.
Hearing this, Yang Na was delighted, "What about your eyes? If we win entirely, does that mean your eyes will come back too?"
Li Huowang was taken aback, reaching up to touch his empty eye socket, "I don't know, maybe?"
"Yes! They will definitely come back!" Yang Na nodded firmly, silently resolving that she must find any way to retrieve Li Huowang's chaotic eye.
Suddenly, a strong buzzing sound arose overhead, drawing everyone's attention as drones quickly blinked green signal lights and swept over.
Seeing there were three drones, Li Huowang felt alarmed, instantly realizing that San Qing was finally making a move.
Immediately, he swiftly rolled in the Bamboo Forest, making a call while leading Yang Na quickly towards the first-floor window of the villa.
"I'm making a move! Have your people cover me! Death's Heavenly Dao is with me! The kills you make don't count! Only the kills on my side count!"
Gunfire erupted, quickly shooting down the drones that had just risen into the air, but Li Huowang had already reached below the villa's window.
Gripping tightly to the military knife with one hand, he thumped the glass forcefully several times with the handle, and upon hearing the glass shatter, Li Huowang jumped right inside.
Inside, it was dark and dirty, not fully renovated, yet filled with the sound of gunfire overhead. Li Huowang gripped the military knife, slowly approaching the rooftop along the ladder.
With a tightening heart and swiftly disappearing pain, every nerve in his body was stretched to the limit.
Just as he was about to reach the attic, distant sirens reached his ears. "I must hurry, the rules are coming!"
He couldn't accept that under the interference of rules from both sides, the end would come in such a manner!
Speeding up, Li Huowang closed in on the attic, finding a window on its slanted roof where two figures had evidently climbed out onto the roof.
Grinding his teeth, Li Huowang quietly prepared to climb out from there to ambush the two Fate Commanders.
But as he raised his head, a nearly invisible thin line snagged and snapped, "A trap!!"
Before Li Huowang could react, a gunshot rang out, and a portion of his skull was instantly blown away by a powerful impact that knocked him backward.
Behind him, Yang Na propped Li Huowang up firmly, preventing him from falling.
"I'm fine! I'm... I'm okay!!" Blood dripped continuously down his bangs, completely soaking his sole eye, turning everything he saw blood-red.
"No way!! The two are alarmed! We must launch a strong attack!" Li Huowang discarded his shirt, tossing it towards the opening.
Upon hearing the sound of bullets tearing through the shirt pause slightly, Li Huowang exerted every effort, darting towards that window.
In the blood-red blur, Li Huowang spotted a fleeting silhouette, unhesitatingly lunging forward, thrusting his knife towards the other's neck.
Feeling warm, sticky fluid saturating the shoelaces wrapped around the knife, Li Huowang was immediately thrilled—he had cut through!
Having dealt with one, Li Huowang immediately looked for the second, only to see the roof completely deserted.
Just then, a wire looped from behind, strangling Li Huowang's neck, making it hard for him to breathe.
Suddenly gunfire erupted, but it wasn't from the enemy—it was Yang Na's gun. With the gunfire, Li Huowang felt the wire on his neck loosen.
Seeing both enemies dead, Li Huowang finally relaxed, tearing off the wire dug into his neck, kneeling on the ground, coughing violently.
"With these two dead, the pressure from below should ease a lot, right?"
With this thought, Li Huowang leaned towards the edge of the roof, taking a deep breath upon seeing Qing Wanglai and others no longer suppressed.
Though the sirens from the rules were close, at least the Fate Commanders of Fusheng Heaven would gain no advantage this time; their ambush had failed.
Bowing his head, wiping the blood from his eye with his arm, Li Huowang prepared to go down and assist.
Yet just then, a tremendous force from behind pushed him violently forward.
In mid-air, Li Huowang reached out wildly, ultimately grabbing hold of the drainpipe, narrowly avoiding falling below.
"Nana, watch out! Don't expose yourself! There's another one!" But just as Li Huowang warned, a figure appeared before him—an old beggar wielding a dog-beating stick.
With a "bang," the old beggar smashed hard on Li Huowang's right hand clutching the drainpipe, causing the sharp edge to cut his palm open and bloody.
Seeing Li Huowang gritting his teeth, refusing to let go, the opponent unsteadily reached into his bosom, seemingly preparing to draw something else.
Li Huowang wanted to use his right hand to grip the drainpipe, intending to climb back up, but his hand was long broken, incapable of exerting strength, unable to climb.
Just as the situation reached a critical point, his lone eye was once again covered in red, as Li Sui, wearing a red Taoist Robe, stood between Li Huowang and the old beggar.
And witnessing this scene, Li Huowang's eyes almost burst, "Suisui! What are you doing! Get away!! Move aside!!"
"Astronomical Bureau, commanded by Zhuanxu, now appoints Nan Zheng as a Heavenly Official to oversee the gods!" The red Taoist Robe tossed aside, revealing Xuan Pin's true form. "Astrological Bureau was established for today!"
All heads began chanting incantations simultaneously, "The standard bearer cannot be questioned, righteously stands, who finds it challenging, perhaps the Heavenly Official God, perhaps creating hardships in the Mortal World, or receiving divine orders squarely!"
As two tiger head seals lifted high amidst entangled tentacles, evil qi burst forth, enveloping Li Huowang.
Accompanying the soul-stirring sound of war drums, cries from countless Military strategists following Xuan Pin resounded from all directions. "Escort me to the Celestial realm's Dutong Sword, guarding the four gates of the Jade Capital!"
Before long, an overwhelming number of Military strategists clad in armor, wielding military knives, enveloped in soaring evil qi, breached the borders of Tianchen Country.
