Little Devil Princess My Sisters Are Seriously Trying to Marry Me When They Grow Up

Chapter 2: Let's Make a Deal, Shall We?

Demons, known for their advanced intelligence and immense magical power, are a breed apart from the commonly known monsters.

Most demons are cruel and brutal, reveling in combat more than anything.

“It looks like this is the end for me,” the child mused with a hint of self-mockery, a small smile on his lips.

Realizing the inevitability of death, he was silently observed by the demon.

“Why don’t you just kill me quickly?”

Being toyed with was a greater torment than anything else for the child.

“If you’re doing this on purpose, then you’re truly a demon. Utterly rotten to the core.”

Time ticks away relentlessly.

Yet, the child still lives.

His round eyes only reflect the demon staring intently at him.

“What’s with this demon, anyway…?”

“Staring at me as if appraising an item…”

“If you’re going to do it, just get it over!”

“Hmm. It may seem absurd for a demon like me to think this, but perhaps this is an act of divine providence.”

“Hmm. It may seem absurd for a demon like me to think this, but perhaps this is an act of divine providence.”

The demon finally spoke, words incomprehensible to the child.

“What are you saying?” the child asked, looking at the demon quizzically.

The demon’s cheeks lifted again into a sly grin, sending shivers down the child’s spine.

“Interesting. You can understand my words, which is rare for a human child… This is even more convenient.”

The demon’s hand gently touched the child’s forehead.

It happened instantly, not even giving the child time to react.

A dazzling purple light emerged from the demon’s fingertips, transforming into a small magic circle.

Then, in the next moment…

“Ah… uh… so, what were you talking… wait, what?”

“Hmm, now we can communicate properly.”

Though still awkward, the child’s voice was indeed forming coherent words.

“I can… speak…?”

Even the child was visibly shaken by this development.

“Could this be… magic?”

Demons are adept in magic.

By such power, the child was granted the ability to converse.

Despite some clumsiness, the child acquired communication skills.

Now, a smooth conversation was possible. The demon, recognizing this, quickly broached the subject.

“Now that we can talk let’s get straight to the point, boy.”

“Whoa, whoa, wait a minute!”

“What is it? You do realize you have no right to refuse, right?”

“I get that much, alright.”

Since encountering the demon, the child knew he never had the option to refuse.

He could, of course, refuse, but doing so would instantly end his life.

As insignificant as kicking a stone by the roadside, he’d meet an unremarkable end unnoticed by anyone.

He didn’t want to die here, not yet. The child harbored a strong, pure desire to live.

“Hmm, a wise decision, boy. I appreciate your understanding. I might even take a liking to you, as much as one would a pet.”

“Is that so… And why did you give me the ability to speak?”

“Before that, boy… who are you? Even with my magic giving you language, it normally wouldn’t mean anything to a child. But you’re different.”

“…To put it simply, I somehow have memories of my past life.”

“Ho, a past life,” mused the demon.

Ignoring the demon’s keen interest, the child continued.

“It’s nothing impressive. I was just a swordsman or something. Thanks to those memories, my mind has developed rapidly…”

“I see. So, you were abandoned by your birth parents because of that mature mind.”

“You’re spot on. As you can see, I was abandoned.”

Half of it was my own doing, the child added internally.

The demon pondered deeply, his expression thoughtful.

The child couldn’t fathom what he was thinking.

But he sensed it was nothing good.

Demons and conflicts in humanity were not new.

Long before the child was born, they had coexisted on the same planet, locked in eternal enmity.

The most crucial weapon in battle is not physical arms or magic but information.

Misleading the enemy with false information can significantly alter the course of a war.

“So, this demon is after information?”

“My past life’s memories could be more valuable…”

The child’s expression hardened as the demon finally spoke.

“Boy, let me be blunt—would you consider contracting with me?”

“A contract?” asked the child warily.

The demon rapidly explained.

“Let me clarify: I have no intention of eating you. While other demons might, I have no such taste.”

“That’s… reassuring…”

A sense of relief washed over the child, slightly easing the tension in his face.

But he couldn’t fully let his guard down. After all, he was dealing with a demon.

“So, what about this contract?”

“I’ll discuss the details based on your willingness. You’re free to choose.”

“But how can I decide without knowing what it involves? And didn’t you say earlier that I had no right to refuse?”

“So, you choose to refuse?”

“No, no, no, no! I didn’t say that!”

“Hmm… very well then. As I said, I have no intention of consuming you. If you agree to the contract and comply, I promise to ensure your safety and life.”

The child couldn’t help but think the demon’s nature was twisted. With a nod that mixed resignation and slight irritation, he watched the demon, who seemed amused, smiling as if he had found a new toy, a twisted grin on his face.

“Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Amon, a servant of a certain individual.”

Amon was the name the demon had given. The child’s gaze upon Amon remained cold and wary.
