Chapter 14 - I'm so happy it's scary.
I ride a carriage with Nisha and head to the Marquis’ house.
Nisha sits next to Brigid and rests her head on her thigh.
Brigid plays with Nisha’s hair. Her silver ears tapped against her fingertips.
(I’m so happy…I’m scared…)
Brigid was entranced.
No one will criticize him, and he will cherish his favorite things. Is there any happiness like this? No, not.
Diarmid was expressionless, but he was in a bad mood.
Nisha’s head is on Brigid’s lap as she sits across from him.
Nisha is looking towards Brigid, and Diarmid seems to be the only one left out of the family circle.
Above all, Diarmid knew that touching Brigid would make him happy.
I don’t like having that happiness monopolized.
“What kind of house is your new house?”
Nisha asks.
“It’s a very big old mansion. I’ve also prepared a room for Nisha. I picked out the things I needed. Is that okay?”
“Did your mom choose it for you?”
“Yeah, if there’s anything you want, let’s go buy it, okay?”
“I don’t need anything as long as mom is here, right?”
“I want to go shopping with Nisha, okay?”
“No! I want to go on a date with mom too!”
“Oh no! If you’re Nisha, then you’re welcome!”
Seeing the two flirting, Diarmid feels bitter.
“What’s a date? It’s a stepmother and son.”
When I snorted, Brigid glared at me.
“…uncle…scary…”
Nisha was shocked and hugged Brigid.
“Huh! Brigid is your mom, and I’m your uncle?”
“…Because, he’s your uncle, right?”
Nisha gets angry and puts down her ears.
“You are now my child! You can call me father and Brigid mother!”
When Diarmid spoke, Nisha trembled.
Brigid hugged Nisha tightly.
“Diarmid! Please stop it! There’s no way you’ll suddenly think of us as your parents, right? We need to take time to do things like that…”
Brigid snorts at Nisha who snorts.
“Right? Nisha. You don’t have to worry about it, okay?”
“…Are you sure? Really?”
“Let’s slowly become a family.”
“Mom, I love you!!”
Nisha said as she hugged Brigid.
(Ah, that guy!!)
For some reason, Diarmid clicks and stands up without thinking.
“Hi!”
When Nisha raised her voice, Brigid stopped Diarmid.
“Here, please sit quietly in the carriage. You have to be an example to Nisha, okay?”
Diarmid gritted his teeth, but still reluctantly sat down.
