Eternal Heavenly Emperor

Chapter 540: A Hundred Thousand Scrolls Collection

"You can't just wander around on your own, can you?" Chu Hao said, beginning to bargain. Despite the woman's stunning beauty, which was practically bubbling, she was a bona fide witch, which made Chu Hao wary and unwilling to have any contact with her.

"You dug me up but don't want to take responsibility for me?" Luo Qingyan turned back to look at him with a smile, her beauty astonishing.

Her allure was in no way inferior to Su Wanyue and Gu Qingcheng, and yet the styles of the three women were entirely different. Su Wanyue was as cold as frost, Gu Qingcheng was as passionate as fire, and she was whimsical.

"Don't make it sound so ambiguous, I don't owe you anything," Chu Hao quickly shook his head.

"Then I'll just follow you," Luo Qingyan seemed easy to talk to and even made a gesture for him to lead the way.

Chu Hao's mouth twitched, whether she was following him or he was following her, what was the difference? He just wanted to shake off this mysterious, strange, and powerful woman because he definitely didn't want to be transformed a second time.

Obviously, it wasn't up to him to decide, he had no say in the matter.

Fine, follow if you want to follow.

Chu Hao thought about it, considering that this place contained the Secret of Eternal Life. Maybe having this "native" accompanying him would make it easier to find and secure it.

"Do you know what this place is?" he asked, trying to probe.

"Idiot," Luo Qingyan gave him a look of disdain.

"How am I an idiot?" Chu Hao said defiantly.

"I've already told you, I don't remember anything. How would I know what this place is?" Luo Qingyan sighed, "You look like a smart person, I didn't expect you to be such an idiot."

Chu Hao felt his teeth itch with hatred. This woman was buried here, and the Undead Soldiers revered this great tomb immensely. To say there was no connection between her and the Nether Palace, well, even ghosts wouldn't believe that.

He tried to coax her, saying, "This place is known as the Nether Palace, containing the Secret of Eternal Life!"

"Pfft!" Luo Qingyan burst into laughter at once, shaking her head while chuckling, "How could there possibly be a Secret of Eternal Life in this world? Only by becoming the Heavenly Emperor can one be indestructible, existing eternally alongside the laws of heaven and earth."

"You're supposed to have lost your memory, how do you know about the Great Emperor?" Chu Hao immediately asked.

Luo Qingyan looked somewhat perplexed, then said, "When you ask, related information just comes up in my mind automatically. Not bad, not bad, keep asking me, see if I can remember more things."

Chu Hao nodded and asked, "When were you buried?"

"I don't know!"

"Who was your master?"

"I don't know!"

"Do you know there is a Nether River here?"

"I don't know!"

...

For every question, Luo Qingyan had no knowledge, just shaking her head, leaving Chu Hao speechless and even she lost interest.

"By the way, the flower you're wearing on your head, could you give it to me?" Chu Hao's eyes suddenly brightened, fixating on the Divine Lotus in the lady's hairline.

Hearing this, the Divine Lotus immediately retracted its petals and hid among Luo Qingyan's hair as if it understood him and was scared.

Luo Qingyan shook her head and said, "No."

"Why not?" asked Chu Hao.

Luo Qingyan paused, then shook her head again, "I don't know the exact reason, but I have this feeling that it's extremely important to me. It seems if I lost it, I would get hurt."

What kind of reasoning was that?

Chu Hao scratched his head, the woman must have been buried for millions or even tens of millions of years, yet she appeared so vibrant, full of strong life essence, and radiated a holy light, full of contradictions.

Eternal life and death should have been two extremes, yet here they coexisted.

Chu Hao shook his head vigorously, deciding not to think about it. "Then just follow me, it would be good to use your power to scare others."

Luo Qingyan giggled mischievously, "You're quite direct. Aren't you afraid I will 'Refine' you again?"

Chu Hao's face paled, and he hurriedly took a few steps back.

Luo Qingyan laughed loudly, "To improve your physique, I also have expenses. Do you think I would make a move so easily?"

"How much of a toll does it take on you?" Chu Hao asked curiously.

"One billionth of my power, I suppose," Luo Qingyan estimated.

Pfft!

Chu Hao nearly spat out, he had been played again.

Luo Qingyan laughed again, unabashedly. Truly a witch.

The two walked through the wasteland, which was like a Ghost Domain, desolate beyond compare, with no living creatures in sight, no sounds to be heard, like a dark and cold universe.

"Boring, truly boring," Luo Qingyan muttered, with her hands behind her head as she walked.

"You've been saying that since two days ago, and you haven't stopped," Chu Hao remarked sarcastically.

"Indeed, boredom kills. Am I not even allowed to complain?" Luo Qingyan stared at Chu Hao with a dangerous smile, "Kid, do you want to be 'remodeled' again?"

"Fine, complain all you want, I'll just pretend I didn't hear anything." Chu Hao hastily responded.

The two continued on their way, and after several days, a forest appeared ahead of them.

The trees were towering, with each leaf as large as a fan, remarkably so. Each seemed forged from black iron, not only pitch-black but also emitting a metallic luster.

"Do you know what kind of trees these are?" Chu Hao asked, having seen this type of tree before, as they seemed to be common in this area.

"Iron Heart Tree." To his surprise, Luo Qingyan actually had an answer. She reached out and caressed a tree, with green radiance surging from her hand, causing the Iron Heart Tree to boom with thunderous growth, instantly shooting up from a hundred zhang to a thousand, turning into a veritable monarch of trees. Around it, the other trees bowed in submission, becoming its subjects.

Chu Hao watched with wide eyes, thinking, could this woman also be a Myriad Spirit Body, capable of promoting plant growth? He directly asked, "Are you a Myriad Spirit Body?"

"Myriad Spirit Body?" Luo Qingyan murmured to herself, then after a while, shook her head and said, "No, I just have mastery over the Wood Series Laws. It seems that Iron Heart Trees have a deep connection with me, but I can't remember why."

Chu Hao sighed in frustration, always hitting a snag at critical moments—it was maddening.

Thumping sounds of horses' hooves and footsteps were approaching from a distance. Chu Hao's expression changed immediately, "Not good, the Undead Army is coming, let's get out of here!" He had already been chased once and had no desire to experience it again, especially since the energy in the Western Wind had been expended and could not recover.

Luo Qingyan, on the other hand, tilted her head and observed for a moment before saying, "No need to fear, I sense no malice from them."

No malice, my foot!

No, wait, they are probably allied. Before, the Undead Soldiers were kneeling towards the great tomb, obviously directed at her.

The army approached swiftly, and in a moment of distraction, Chu Hao had missed his chance to escape. He had no choice but to stand beside Luo Qingyan, hoping this witch could spare his life.

The imposing army advanced, with Luo Qingyan standing at the forefront, her flowing sleeves as light as if she were a celestial fairy.

Swoosh—the entire army came to a simultaneous halt right before Luo Qingyan.

The cavalry dismounted, and at once, all the soldiers kneeled together, worshiping before Luo Qingyan with a single, crisp "clang" sound, precise and uniform.

There was a moment of silence—no Undead Soldier made a sound, only an endless, suffocating sense of solemnity permeated the air, as if made tangible, chilling to the bone.

Luo Qingyan's expression grew serious, and with a slight raise of her right hand, she commanded, "Rise."

Swoosh—every soldier obediently stood up, the knights remounted, again with a single sound.

After pondering for a moment, Luo Qingyan said, "You may leave, I cannot remember anything at the moment."

As her words fell, the army moved out, passing by both sides of Chu Hao and Luo Qingyan with their weapons raised skyward. Not a single "person" gave Chu Hao an extra glance, treating him as if he were no more than an ant.

Indeed, to this army, he was just an ant.

Chu Hao touched his nose, feeling unreconciled. Being ignored like this was truly uncomfortable.

The army soon vanished into the distance, their footsteps no longer audible.

"Have you remembered anything?" Chu Hao asked.

"I don't know," Luo Qingyan shook her head.

"Why does that army listen to you?" Chu Hao asked again.

"Idiot," Luo Qingyan looked at him with contempt, "I am their master. If they don't listen to me, who would they listen to, you?"

Chu Hao was taken aback, not expecting her to admit it so readily.

"Are you the master of this place?" he asked.

Luo Qingyan thought seriously for a while and said, "I'm not sure, my memory is too blurred."

"Then let's continue exploring," Chu Hao suggested, still keen on uncovering the Secret of Eternal Life that could benefit those around him, even if he had no interest in it himself.

The two continued on, navigating aimlessly. With Chu Hao's current strength, he could go days without sleep, and even more so for Luo Qingyan, who seemed to be a War God or even more powerful than a War God.

In a flash, seven days passed as they wandered without purpose. On the eighth day, they encountered a row of palaces. Counting them, there were at least a hundred, each one incredibly lavish and emanating a misty aura.

What place was this?

"Eh, this seems to be... the 'Hundred Thousand Scrolls Collection'!" Luo Qingyan claimed after a moment and uttered the name.

The Hundred Thousand Scrolls Collection seemed to suggest a place with cultivation techniques and historical records.

Chu Hao's interest was piqued, "Let's hurry and check it out; maybe you'll find something about your past."

As they approached the palace complex, they found a barrier of light blocking the way, like a large formation preventing anyone's entry. As a result, a crowd of people was gathered, apparently trying to figure out how to penetrate the barrier.

Chu Hao's gaze swept over them—these were members of the Alien Race. One of them shone brightly, standing at the center of the crowd as the focal point, radiating a daunting presence. It was Xiang Wushuang, one of the Seven Emperors.

By the name, one could conclude this individual bore the bloodline of the Divine Beast War Elephant, although it wasn't markedly obvious—only his nose was notably longer and his body was terrifyingly robust, his skin a golden color, and his eyes were deep, as if holding a Star Universe within.

As these Alien Race individuals saw Chu Hao and Luo Qingyan approaching, they all tensed up, their eyes fixed on Chu Hao.

This member of the Human Race had brought them much embarrassment; without one of the Seven Emperors taking action, nobody could suppress him.

"Scram!" one of the Alien Race, a High Tier War Venerate with a Blackfish Head, shouted.(To be continued.
