Eternal Heavenly Emperor

Chapter 505: Spatial Crystal Insect

Chu Hao took out the food, and the four of them got busy with their own tasks.

The Barbaric Girl was the greediest eater, but when it came to cooking, she absolutely wouldn't lift a finger. After watching and salivating for a while, she started playing nearby.

Half an hour later, Chu Hao called out, "Time to eat!"

"Eat! Eat! Eat!" The Barbaric Girl's eyes lit up, and she trotted over quickly, turning her head back and saying, "Hurry up, hurry up, if you're not quick, there'll be no food left."

Chu Hao looked around curiously, but there was not even a ghost's shadow behind the girl. He just thought the girl was being playful and didn't take it to heart.

The four sat down in a circle, but the Barbaric Girl said, "Make some space, please. Crystal has nowhere to sit."

"Who is Crystal?" Chu Hao asked casually.

"That's it." The girl pointed behind her, but there was nothing there—just empty space.

Chu Hao laughed and played along with the girl, "Alright, alright, let's make space for Crystal." He moved over towards Gu Qingcheng, and Gu Qingcheng moved a bit towards Su Wanyue, opening up a space.

The four started eating. At their level of cultivation, they could go without food or drink for a month, and with the absorption of Spiritual Power for replenishment, they could last more than half a year.

Not dying of hunger didn't mean they couldn't get hungry though. Having not eaten for several days, each of them had an excellent appetite.

They ate ravenously, but the Barbaric Girl suddenly stopped and said, "Crystal, why aren't you eating? Don't be shy, here, have this piece." She tore off a piece of roasted meat and placed it aside.

Chu Hao, Su Wanyue, and Gu Qingcheng all smiled, thinking that the girl was still childlike, playing house. But a moment later, their eyes were wide with disbelief because the piece of roasted meat had suddenly lost a corner, as if someone had taken a bite out of it.

Whoosh, the three of them sprang up instantly, and Fat Cat's fur bristled, leaping onto Chu Hao's head with a whoosh.

"Eh, what's wrong with you all?" the Barbaric Girl asked, not realizing anything amiss and looking at the three quizzically.

"That Crystal, exactly what is it?" Chu Hao asked gravely. At first, he thought the girl was just playing pretend, but now it seemed like there really was something invisible.

"Crystal is just Crystal. Can't you see?" The girl was surprised, reaching into the air and holding her hands together as if she were holding something—perhaps the size of a small dog.

"Can't see anything!" the three of them said, shaking their heads in unison.

"Eh, Crystal, they can't see you," the girl said, looking down and speaking, pausing before muttering to herself, "You don't want them to see you? Why? They're good friends of ours... Heh, that saggy-breasted vixen I don't really like, though."

"You brat!" Gu Qingcheng was furious and started yelling, about to rush over and thrash someone but was snatched up by Chu Hao.

"Fatso, Crystal says you're too fierce, and it's afraid," the girl told Gu Qingcheng, looking up at her.

"Dead girl, where is this miss fat?" Gu Qingcheng was decidedly unhappy.

"There!" The Barbaric Girl pointed at Gu Qingcheng's chest, "When you look down and can't see your feet, doesn't it make you sad?"

"Pah, that only makes this miss proud!" Gu Qingcheng said, proudly sticking out her chest, "Didn't you see that some guy is always sneaking glances at this miss's chest sight with his peripheral vision?" She glanced at Chu Hao when mentioning 'some guy'.

Chu Hao sighed and said, "Let's not get sidetracked. Yun Cai, what exactly is Crystal?"

"Crystal, show yourself," the girl said to the air she was holding.

Fat Cat stroked its whiskers with a paw and muttered, "Could it be that?"

"What is that?" Chu Hao picked Fat Cat up and pointed at its nose, "Don't you dare squat on my head anymore!"

"As a symbol of fortune between heaven and earth, don't you think it's an honor for me to sit on your head?" Fat Cat declared shamelessly.

"Honor my foot!"

Su Wanyue also sighed and said, "Let's not get distracted. Fat Cat, do you know what that is?"

"I know the past five hundred years and the next five hundred years. What is there not to know?" Fat Cat said pretentiously.

"Stop talking nonsense, tell us!" Chu Hao, Su Wanyue, and Gu Qingcheng commanded all at once.

"Based on my estimation, it's nine out of ten a Spatial Crystal Insect," Fat Cat finally said.

"An insect? That big?" Chu Hao doubted.

"Pah, haven't you seen a cockroach bigger than you before?" Fat Cat spat.

"What's a Spatial Crystal Insect?" Su Wanyue inquired.

After pondering for a moment, Fat Cat said, "When some powerful beings with space attributes die, Spatial Crystal Insects are born from their corpses. These insects are invisible to the naked eye, like they're transparent, they feed on spatial nodes, and they cause disturbances in space, leading to instability."

"We can't fly here, and Star Force and Soul Seed are greatly suppressed—is it because of the Spatial Crystal Insects?" Chu Hao picked up from where Fat Cat left off, but he immediately paused and said, "More than one Spatial Crystal Insect?"

"Definitely more than one. These creatures appear in tens of thousands or even billions, just like ants," Fat Cat said.

"Are Spatial Crystal Insects dangerous?" Su Wanyue asked a crucial question.

"Of course, there's no problem if you don't provoke them, but if you do, tens of thousands of Spatial Crystal Insects flying at you together can tear you to shreds in an instant. You have to understand that they can even devour space itself," Fat Cat said.

"Why can't we see them?" Chu Hao asked.

"Yeah, and why can Yun Cai see them?" Su Wanyue also asked.

"Spatial Crystal Insects can manipulate the power of space; it's very normal that you can't see them. But as for why Yun can see them… that, even I do not know," Fat Cat scratched its head, looking somewhat embarrassed.

"Little Crystal is very well-behaved," the Barbaric Girl finally interjected, but immediately sighed and said, "Just that it doesn't have any meat on it!"

Chu Hao and the others broke out in a cold sweat. It seemed that if the Spatial Crystal Insects had flesh, they probably couldn't escape her devilish mouth.

"Ah, I've thought of a possibility," Fat Cat suddenly clapped its paws together and said, "The birth of the Spatial Crystal Insects might be because a powerful being with spatial attributes died. According to my speculation, it should be a Bronze Giant Dragon."

"A Bronze Giant Dragon is a branch of the Golden Giant Dragon, yet it is naturally endowed with the power of space and belongs to the same lineage as Yun Cai. If these Spatial Crystal Insects were born from a Bronze Giant Dragon, then it's not strange that Yun Cai can see them. Essentially, they are family," Fat Cat explained.

Chu Hao couldn't help but show a strange expression and said to the girl, "You have quite a peculiar relative there, so different from you."

"Hmph!" The girl snorted proudly and raised her head, continuing to devour her roasted meat.

Chu Hao and the rest found it curious that there were such peculiar beings in the world, but they couldn't see the Spatial Crystal Insects. Also, it seemed like the insects were quite shy, only nibbling on some meat at the beginning and then showing no other movement.

As a result, they soon sat down as well and began eating their roasted meat.

After Chu Hao had been eating for a while, he suddenly said, "Fat Cat, you mentioned that Yun Cai can see the Spatial Crystal Insects because these insects originated from a Bronze Dragon?"

"My guess is definitely right," Fat Cat said confidently.

Su Wanyue continued, "Which means there's a Bronze Dragon buried here."

"Wow, then we've struck it rich. A Bronze Dragon that could give birth to Spatial Crystal Insects must be incredibly powerful; I haven't even tasted Dragon Liver yet!" Fat Cat immediately started drooling profusely.

"Stronger than the War God?"

"Even calling the War God a grandchild wouldn't be enough!" Fat Cat sneered.

Chu Hao sighed and said, "Even such beings have vanished into the river of history, unable to live forever, indestructible."

"Just achieve the status of an Eternal Heavenly Emperor, and you'll be everlasting and indestructible, immortal for eternity!" Fat Cat chimed in.

"Fat Cat, above the War God, how many realms are there, exactly?"

Fat Cat hesitated for a moment and said, "Well, since you have already entered the Upper Three Realms, you barely qualify to know."

Chu Hao and the others all showed rapt attention, while the Barbaric Girl continued devouring her meal without a care in the world.

"I've mentioned before that the essence of this world is the Dao. Those who have mastered the Dao are Eternal Heavenly Emperors, eternal as the heavens and earth, as long-lived as the universe. Beneath the Dao are the Laws, divided into the First-Level Laws, also known as the Main Laws. Below the Main Laws are the Second-Level Laws, also known as Child Laws, and then there are the Third-Level, Fourth-Level, and Five-level Laws," Fat Cat explained.

"The reason why the War Gods are called gods is that they have touched the fringes of the Laws, grasping a tiny fragment of Laws, which elevates them beyond the common man's level. Whereas someone who masters a Five-level Law is a Star Master."

"Correspondingly, a master of the Fourth-Level Laws is the King of Stars. A master of the Third-Level Laws is a Domain Lord. A master of Child Laws is a Realm Master. A master of Main Laws is an Immortal Emperor."

Fat Cat paused for a moment and then said, "Don't think that Star Masters are just one level higher than War Gods; the gap between mastering a fragment of Laws and a complete Five-level Law is as wide as the difference between heaven and earth. Star Masters have the Laws within their bodies, with a normal lifespan of one hundred thousand years, and some old monsters can even live up to two or three hundred thousand years."

Chu Hao and the others were dumbfounded because the War Genie had a lifespan of merely one or two thousand years, which was like comparing the light of a firefly to the brilliance of the moon when compared to a Star Master—too much of a difference.

"The King of Stars can live for a million years, and likewise, there are old monsters who can live for two or three million years. As for Domain Lords, their lifespan starts at ten million years, Realm Masters at a hundred million years. Although Immortal Emperors have the title of immortality, they can only live longer and are unable to achieve true immortality, with lifespans starting at a billion years."

"Without becoming a Heavenly Emperor, one cannot be truly eternal!"

Fat Cat sighed, feeling a bit downcast.

Chu Hao looked towards the heavens, but this Abyss cut off the sky, and he said, "So you mean, in that vast universe, there are so many other powerful beings?"

"It doesn't have to be that distant. Isn't there one on Sky Martial Star?" Fat Cat smiled and said, "Did you forget about the Evil God who sealed himself beneath Black Iron City? According to my knowledge, he has at least the Cultivation of a Star Master."

"But isn't a Star Master's lifespan only one hundred thousand years? How can one survive through millions of years?" Su Wanyue asked, wasn't that a contradiction?
