Meyers Pictures Boardroom

Martin was outlining his vision for the future of cinema and the company's direction. "Avatar marked the start of a new era. Inception and The Hobbit, both coming soon, will have 3D and IMAX versions, which I believe will boost their box office. Oh, and Fast Five is in production too. 3D and IMAX are the future, especially for visual effects blockbusters. We need to be ready."

Fast & Furious 5 set.

Gal Gadot stood among the crowd, listening to Vin Diesel, the bald action star, boast. "I know all the big Hollywood players—Spielberg, James Cameron, George Lucas, oh, and Martin Meyers," he bragged.

Paul Walker, nearby, smirked. He'd seen Vin around Martin, fawning like a puppy, a far cry from the cocky attitude he flaunted on set. Paul couldn't stand Vin. The guy used his connections to hog scenes, turning his supporting role into a co-lead. Paul worried that, at this rate, Vin's screen time might soon eclipse his own. Worse, audiences seemed to love the jerk, and the box office kept climbing despite his expanded role.

When Vin dropped Martin's name, eyes lit up among the female actors, Gal Gadot included. A diehard Martin fan—his movies, books, and music—she could honestly say she grew up on his work.

Martin, cautious as ever, had her background checked to avoid any trouble. Before Hollywood, Gal was Israel's Miss Universe contestant, a former Miss Israel, though she didn't make the top 15. She'd also served two years of mandatory military service in Israel. A photoshoot titled "Israel's Model Soldier" landed her on the cover of a U.S. magazine, but it only sparked fleeting curiosity, not career momentum.

She auditioned for Bond Girl but lost to Ukrainian model Olga Kurylenko. However, Fast & Furious 4 director Justin Lin remembered her and cast her as Gisele. Despite limited screen time, her long legs won over audiences, earning her a bigger role in Fast & Furious Five.

Vin, ever confident, was sure he could charm her. He knew exactly what a Hollywood hopeful like her needed most.
