Age of Ascension: Forging an Immortal Realm from Nothing

In the dead, silent world, everything was now painted crimson.
Qin Keqing’s movements were limp, her arms barely able to support the 【Wind Moon Precious Mirror】. Her forehead was slick with sweat, and her normally ethereal face was just a mask of pure exhaustion. She had no idea how many spells she’d cast, how many monsters she’d frozen, how many she’d killed. She was just a machine, casting on autopilot. No aiming necessary. No finesse required. Why bother «N.o.v.e.l.i.g.h.t» when there were so. Many. Fucking. Monsters.
You could literally just chuck a spell in any random direction and be guaranteed to hit a whole crowd of them.
She’d gone from being scared of the blood and bodies to being completely numb. All she wanted now was to crawl into that shabby little cabin and pass out. Preferably… leaning against Wu Chi. That would feel really, really safe…
"Tired?" Wu Chi glanced back at her and smiled.
Qin Keqing nodded, a touch of vulnerability in her eyes. 
"Young master," she whispered, "going by the last few days, shouldn't the battle be over by now?"
His eyes snapped back to the battlefield. In the dead, silent mist, there wasn't a single monster in sight.
"It should be…" he started, then his face hardened. 
"Wait, no!"
It was simple. The "Battle Cleared" pop-up hadn't appeared.
Before he could say anything, a cool voice drifted up. 

"There's more on the way."
From below the wall, Lin Daiyu leaped up, landing lightly beside them. Her clothes were caked in blood and dirt, and her jade hairpin was long gone, leaving her looking like she’d just been through a tornado.
"Sister Daiyu, you…" Qin Keqing gasped, worried. "Are you hurt?"
"Relax, I'm not some damsel in distress!" Lin Daiyu flexed her fist, a smug little look on her face. Reborn into a new life, she was extremely satisfied with the new her. All this power, enough to crush anything in her path! She turned to Wu Chi. 
"Just like you said, young master, the difficulty ramped up on Day 10. The monsters today were stronger and more numerous than yesterday, but… it’s not over yet!"
"Could be at dusk, could be at night, but there will be another wave," she said, letting out a breath and rubbing her shoulder. 
"Young master, this humble servant would like to take a little break~!" she cooed, batting her eyelashes with a pouty expression.
Seeing her act like this, Wu Chi's face twitched. 
"Alright, alright, I'm not running a slave camp here, you can stop with the cutesy act. Go take a shower, then get some proper rest. I'll handle cleaning up the battlefield."
"Okay! Then we'll be counting on you, young master!" Lin Daiyu's bubbly energy returned in a flash.
Qin Keqing glanced at the gory fields outside, hesitated, and then mumbled, "Maybe… maybe I should stay and help you."
"Nope, go rest!" Wu Chi smiled. And with that, Lin Daiyu dragged Qin Keqing off to the showers.
Watching them go, Wu Chi let out a sigh of relief. He called his battered and bruised pigs back into the territory, then headed down to collect the loot boxes. Thankfully, as the Lord, he didn't have to physically pick them up; he just had to get close and think 'yoink.' He walked through the mountain of corpses and sea of blood, his every step squelching in the gore that covered the dark red earth. The air was thick with a complex, nauseating stench.
One box, a hundred, a thousand…
Over half an hour later, Wu Chi finally finished collecting all the "Kill Chests" and trudged back, looking sick.
"4,320 of them in total!" he grumbled, feeling a headache coming on. 
"Holy shit, this many monsters on Day 10? Is this game even balanced?"
He knew from experience that a normal new Lord would be lucky to see their first elite monster on Day 10. In the endless void, especially during the "Newbie Trials," the monster waves scaled with the territory's overall strength. The stronger the territory, the stronger the monsters!
Back inside, Wu Chi splashed his face with water, trying to clear his head. Only when he felt reasonably alert did he head back to the cabin.
The two women were already lying on the bed. Lin Daiyu was fast asleep, looking radiant after her bath, dressed only in her white underthings with a faint smile on her face. It seemed she was quite enjoying this lifestyle.
Qin Keqing, however, was still awake. When she saw Wu Chi enter, she sat up bolt upright, realized she was also just in her underclothes, and hastily grabbed an outer robe to cover herself before looking up at him with a shy, sultry gaze.
The look from this stunning beauty was so potent that Wu Chi's knees almost buckled. He swallowed hard, forcing down the sudden heat in his veins. 
"Keqing," he said, his voice a little hoarse, "help me open some boxes."
"Mm! Okay!" Qin Keqing quickly sat up. Before she could put on her shoes, Wu Chi stopped her and sat down on the bed beside her, pulling out the "Kill Chests."
Feeling the man so close to her, smelling a rich, masculine scent, Qin Keqing's face turned beet red. An amorous feeling bloomed in her eyes, and her body began to tremble slightly. Looking impossibly delicate, like a frightened little rabbit, she began to open the chests one by one.
